Seven Residents Netted Due to Littering

Seven residents were netted by civil servant investigators (PPNS) for cleanliness in the raid that held along East Flood Canal (KBT), Duren Sawit, Sunday (10/4). Those are netted due to littering.

According to the bylaw, the offenders will be fined up to Rp 500 thousand or imprisonment for 6 months

 

Secretary of East Jakarta Administration, Junaidi acknowledged that the raid is compliance with Bylaw No.3/2013 on Trash Management. It regulates on trash throwing according to its place.

"According to the bylaw, the offenders will be fined up to Rp 500,000 or imprisonment for 6 months. But our aim now is just education, that is by giving moral sanction," he expressed.

 

Besides locals, another target is peddler. But the officer only gives them understanding to maintain cleanliness.

 

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Wahyu Pudjiastuti disclosed a dossier and statement form are immediately made to the netted residents.

 

"Nevertheless, we remain give them sanction, which is they have to clean up trashes on the streets," she asserted.
